Early Detection is key to beating Breast Cancer!

About the Founder

It was a day like any other day I had scheduled my yearly mammogram on Friday April 24th, 2009 with the confidence I had always had doing the “yearly thing”. I never worried about breast cancer because it was not in my family. On May 1st I was called back for a second mammogram again not really worried about anything I went alone. They had me wait until the radiologist read the report, so they asked me to sit in this room and then a nurse and the radiologist came in together.

The radiologist said well, you have breast cancer … Just like that No beating around the bush for this guy … I will never forget that day as long as I live. If, it had not been for the understanding and kindness of the nurse (Donna Sue) I think I would of fell apart. I thank God for putting an angel in my path.

Everyone will face unfortunate situations in life; a job loss, a nasty divorce, a death in the family or health concerns. Difficult times are unavoidable. Sometimes we see them looming on the horizon, and some just sneak up on us without warning. The sneak up ones are the ones that give us abundant strength.

I want every woman to know the importance of a yearly mammogram yes, they are not very comfortable and yes, sometimes they even hurt a little, but to catch breast cancer at a very early stage is the key to fighting this disease.

Every morning when I open my eyes I realize I am a Survivor. I take every day with God’s Awesome Blessing. I want to be a person who works hard on making the right decisions and following God’s path. Nobody makes all the right decisions, and I will be the first to admit that. But the wonderful thing is I have another day to do better, to be better and to live better.

God Bless,
